S1 : SVEA  - HISTORY

HISTORYdecor

Whilst researching 8 Metre plans in 1999, John Lammerts van Bueren discovered plans for a Swedish J Class yacht by designer, Tore Holm, dating from 1937. The hull was to be the longest of all the J's - a Super racing J. Research by the Hoek design office suggest that this will be one of the fastest of all J's. The Owner plans to build with a flush deck to the original design.

The lines plans were approved on the 17th February and building of the aluminium hull is planned to start in May 2009. Completions is likely in 2011, making this one of the longest yacht construction projects - 74 years from a design start in 1937 to expected completion in 2011.
