RACING

Velsheda's first event was the Antigua Classic Regatta in 1998, which she won. She went on from there to compete successfully in many events throughout Europe with great success. Between 1999 and 2000 she completed a circumnavigation, including competing in Auckland regattas prior to the America's Cup. In 2001 Shamrock V and Endeavour joined Velsheda for the first J CLASS REGATTA to be held in UK waters (Christchurch Bay) after 65 years and then competed in the America's Cup Jubilee in the Solent. Since then she has competed each year at the Maxi yacht regatta, Sardinia and the Voiles de St Tropez, France, and has crossed the Atlantic twice each year to compete in Antigua Classics - a formidable programme of sailing.
