The racing will start each day from the RYS line and finish either on the same line or inside Gurnard mark so Cowes Green is a good place to watch from. The courses will be depend on a variety of factors and will not be known until the morning of each race.

Appended to the SI’s is a Notice to Mariners which should be read by all going afloat to watch the racing. There will be 200 m Moving Safety Zone (MSZ) around each J Class Yacht in the Central, Eastern and Western Solent to allow for the safe manoeuvring of the yachts.

The fleet will be followed by an On the Water Umpire – Alfredo Ricci – who will have the ability to impose penalties including turns if the racing rules are broken. Addendum Q is appended to the Sailing Instructions.
